Food Waste Collection Vehicles

Food waste collection is a large part of most local authorities refuse responsibilities and a suitable vehicle for collection and disposal of this waste is an important part of ensuring the service runs smoothly and efficiently. Below are details of recent builds of vehicles intended to be used in this field:

Our Polybodies® are a successful design for this type of collection but as many rounds require various waste streams to be collected together, a full height, offside tipping food pod was fitted to this vehicle to enable the operators to load via a standard wheelie/slave bin or removable trough and then discharge onto the floor before moving the vehicle and emptying the main body in a different location. Enclosed steel bodies designed to tip into an above ground level recepticle. This required freightermate scissor lift equipment to allow the body to vertically lifted before it tipped
