In an age of complex, expensive and perhaps unnecessarily sophisticated RCVs the LinkTip ‘Linkpacka’ makes a virtue out of being simple, rugged and easy to use. The all steel construction of the Linkpacka is a natural development of the well established ‘Crownhood’ range of LinkTip side loading RCV bodies, but has many of the advantages of the more complex, rear end loading type RCVs on the market.

Using the basic clean discharge body design with hinged loading doors on both sides, the Linkpacka is fitted with a dual purpose, hydraulically operated, compaction and discharge plate. This works in the same way as the ejector plate system on larger FEL units – the load being compressed towards the rear tailgate to leave a clear space by the loading doors. Recent product development has included a ‘bustle’ type rear door which not only adds an additional 1.2 CuM volume to the body but increases the overall compaction ratio by ‘rolling’ the refuse in the curved door profile. To ensure crew safety, built-in safety systems ensure that the ejector plate cannot be used while the side loading doors are open.

In addition, to comply with recent legislation, all control systems are of ‘FailSafe’ design. The ‘Linkpacka’ RCV can be used by just one operative if required thanks to ‘user friendly’ controls. The unit features a one piece, power operated, swing up tailgate and uses the ejector plate for rapid load discharge. The ‘Linkpacka’ is also available with a versatile high tipping action enabling the unit to discharge cleanly at landfill sites, into a range of skips and bulk containers, or directly over the rave of a larger two, three or four axle REL. The design of the new ‘Linkpacka’ incorporates many features perfected during the last decade of specialist RCV bodywork construction.

Maximum safety standards and logical easy operation are vital on compression and tipping type bodywork. The new ‘Linkpacka’ is a direct result of the care and attention to detail that LinkTip designers put into this area of responsibility. The Linkpacka now features an ‘autocycle’ and ‘auto rev’ facility to maximise operational resource. Product quality and a long trouble free service life are also of major importance on specialist units working in tough environments like refuse collection. LinkTip has the latest paint preparation and application technology and the company has wide ranging experience with hydraulic systems.

The ‘Linkpacka’ can be used as a manual loader, or with one, or more, LinkTip Bin Lift units – a practical fold away system that does not obstruct manual loading and folds flat for travelling, being mounted directly to the body structure. If required, larger ‘roof loading’ bin lifts can be specified – keeping the existing side loading doors for manual loading. The design of the ‘Linkpacka’ lends itself to easy cost-effective adaptation to dual or split loading compartments for recycling programmes and LinkTip is able to discuss modifications and additional equipment to suit customer requirements.
