Linktip LEADS FOR WOODEND

Linktip LEADS FOR WOODENDIt’s always flattering to get good feedback on your company, but when a customer states you’re the market leader for a particular vehicle then it really is satisfying.  Read on the find out which vehicle body gained such praise from leading hire company Woodend Municipal…

One of the leading self drive hire specialists, Woodend Municipal has a modern fleet of vehicles from a range of manufacturers, including refuse trucks, sweepers, skip loaders, hook loaders and gullies.

Each vehicle is carefully purchased with both the customer and their drivers needs in minds.  However, when it comes to small compaction bodies it seems LinkTip’s are crushing the competition with their Micropack body.
Woodend Municipal has just taken delivery of two Micropacks with the ‘Slimlift’ bin system and these have already been deployed by Blackburn and Darwen Borough Council for street cleansing.

Norman Bowes from Woodend Municipal explains: “We’re very happy with the bodies received from LinkTip.  At the moment they really are the market leaders for that size of vehicle.”
Developed from the successful range of LinkTip non-compaction side loading refuse collectors the 'Micropack' compaction body offers the ideal solution to many of today's environmental problems whilst being simple, rugged and easy to use.

The all steel construction of the Micropack design has many of the advantages of more complex rear end loading RCV's without the expensive and perhaps unnecessary sophistication. The body design is both lightweight and robust featuring a clean discharge floor profile with swaged side panels and roof. Hinged loading doors are available on both sides allowing both manual and mechanical loading.

Internally the Micropack is fitted with a dual purpose hydraulically operated, compaction and ejection plate. This works in the same way as the ejector plate system on larger FEL units, the load being compressed towards the rear tailgate to leave a clear space by the loading doors.

To ensure crew safety built-in safety systems ensure that the ejector/compactor plate cannot be operated while the side loading doors are open. In addition, to comply with recent legislation, all control systems are of fail-safe design. 'Auto rev' and 'Autocycle' operation are standard features maximising operational resources. For many operational applications the Micropack RCV' can be used by just one operative thanks to user friendly controls. The unit features a one piece, hydraulically operated, swing up tailgate and uses the ejector plate for rapid load discharge.

The 'Micropack' is also available with a highly versatile 'rear lift' system - enabling the unit to discharge cleanly at landfill or transfer sites, into a range of skips and bulk containers, or directly over the rave of a larger two, three or four axle RCV.

The large loading aperture of the Micropack unit also makes it ideally suited for plastic wheeled bin collections and can be fitted with the body mounted 'Slimlift' hydraulically operated bin lift system. If required larger roof loading bin lifts can be specified - keeping side loading doors for manual loading, enabling maximum compaction potential.
