O’TOOLE MEAN BUSINESS ON FOOD WASTE
Specialising in organic & food waste recycling, O’Toole Composting offers a comprehensive range of composting services to treat organic waste streams. With demand for food waste collection continually increasing, the company have just taken delivery of a new trailer fitted with a LinkTip RL1100 binlift.
O’Toole will be using the new trailer to collect food and organic waste from hospitals, prisons, hotels, restaurants, large office blocks, food factories, army barracks, shopping centres and other premises where commercial food waste is produced.
The new vehicle is very efficient, being as manoeuvrable as an 8X4 chassis but able to carry a payload of 24 tonnes, combined with LinkTip’s binlifing equipment, the 140ltr wheelie bins used to collect the waste can be loaded quickly and safely every time before being delivered to O’Toole’s invessel composting facility in Carlow.
This is O’Toole’s first order from LinkTip, however, the group’s reputation and experience for building this type of equipment gave O’Toole the confidence they needed to specify.
Patrick O’Toole says: “2009 will prove to be very busy year for us as The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government is drafting regulations designed to promote the segregation and recovery of food waste arising in the commercial sector.
“Not only will this specify targets but will also increase the amount of food waste that is recovered so the binlift is a timely and highly productive addition to our fleet.”
