WE OFFER SO MUCH MORE!
THE WHOLE PACKAGE
The LinkTip Group offers much more than vehicle sales, as many customers will testify, we have a helpful and highly knowledgeable service and repairs department headed up by Jack Legg, who has over 20 years experience with us. The team is there to help in a number of ways including spares, repairs, servicing, training and importantly LOLER inspections.
SPARES AND REPAIRS
With minimal downtime essential, Jack and his team offer a quick turnaround on spares. If a component is in stock and you call during the morning the part will be sent that day for next day delivery. Of course if it’s a non stock item like a hydraulic cylinder which needs to be manufactured specifically, you can be assured the lead time will be as short as possible.
If a repair needs to be carried out then you can either bring your vehicle to our premises in the West Midlands or a specialist engineer will come out to you.

SERVICING AND REFURBISHMENT
Many customers choose to extend their standard 12 month warranty with a free 12 month extension. Although it’s subject to servicing by LinkTip every six months, it does ensure the vehicle and its equipment is being well maintenance duly preserving performance and longevity.
LinkTip are also experts at refurbishing vehicle bodies, when Rydale District Council wanted to change their GLD10 Hooklift from a Volvo chassis to a brand new Iveco, the guys at LinkTip refurbished the equipment and transferred it to the new chassis in one of our service bays.

ONSITE TRAINING
LinkTip offers onsite operator training which can prove very useful to private waste companies and local authorities. A legal requirement, it gets staff familiar with new equipment quickly and eliminates guesswork out on the road.
On the maintenance side, although many customers have their own service bays and engineers, we can assist with onsite workshop training. Jack or one of his team will come to your premises with a particular vehicle and conduct the training in your workshop, using your engineers and equipment, so they know exactly what to do on a day to day basis. LinkTip issues certificates to say this training has taken place.
LOLER INSPECTIONS
An increasing number of local authorities are choosing to have LOLER inspections carried out by the vehicle manufacturer.
LOLER or Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER 98) require a competent person to check the safe operation and integrity of any equipment, an MOT for the equipment rather than the chassis.
LOLER states that a competent person is someone with an appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge, together with experience that will enable them to detect defects or weaknesses in the equipment. This will be a combination of experience, training and qualifications. So it’s no surprise that customers are turning to the manufacturers of their equipment, where they offer LOLER inspections. After all who knows the lifting equipment i.e.: Hooklift and Binlifts better than the supplier.
Talking about the department Jack says: “It sounds simple but it’s really about understanding customer need and what problems they are encountering. It’s my job to give them the best advice possible and a level of service which means they get a correct and speedy resolution to their problem.”
This thinking is part of our ethos where we try to and involve clients at every stage for example customers are more than welcome to view their vehicle during manufacture. In fact this is encouraged during the early stages where modifications to the design can still take place.
As Jack continued: “Sometimes you don’t get the overall feel of a vehicle till you see it being built, gaining an idea of how it will actually work in operation. Even minor changes at this stage can ensure everyone is happy with the vehicle that’s delivered.”
He added: “We’re not the kind of manufacturer that has a drop and forget attitude so we’re always at the other end of the phone no matter what help or advice you need.”
